Q: honda odyssey??
On my 2001 honda oddyssey i get 15 miles per gallon. Is that normal?
A: i guess it's different depending on your travel or road condition. If you're always driving in a highway road, your fuel consumption will be very good and if you're always driving in the city road condition which has more junction, traffice lights, jammed etc. your fuel consumption will be poor.
Q: How to use Honda Odyssey rear headphones differently than sound in front?
We have a Honda Odyssey minivan and we can not figure out how to listen to XM radio or just CDs in the front while using the headphones in the back to listen and watch the DVD. We can get it to play different things (i.e. XM in front CD in back, or DVD in front and AM/FM in back). Does anyone know how to listen to the DVD in back and something else in the front?
Thanks!
A: I have talked to a couple of our salespeople and they said that you should start the DVD first then press the CD or XM button while the DVD id playing. This should transfer the audio for XM to the front. I hope this works for you.
Q: How much do used Honda Odyssey minivans go for nowadays?
I want to buy a used Honda Odyssey fairly soon. I wonder if they went down in price at all. I live in AZ Anyone knows? Give me more options not just the dealerships.
A: the prices of Honda & Toyota minivans remain high.
even the used ones are bringing top dollar.
it "almost" makes it a better deal to buy a new one rather a used one.
2008 Honda Odyssey
Kelley Blue Book Price:$21,500 - $27,000
Q: How do I replace a headlight in a 2001 Honda Odyssey?
A few weeks ago I was driving around, and I clipped a deer in the butt with the very right side of my front end. My bumper is sort off, my headlight is busted and does not work, and my quarter panel is a little bent. If you could tell me/show me where I could get the proper instructions for repairing a 2001 Honda Odyssey, specifically removing the old headlight and installing a new one, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
A: when u go to the auto parts store to buy the headlight they should be able to tell u how to do it...it differs from vehicle to vehicle but normally there are a couple screws that u take out and then the headlight comes right out
Q: What's the estimated cost to replace the transmission in a 2003 Honda Odyssey?

A: $ 2000.00 and up
Q: How to change engine coolant in Honda Odyssey 2001?
I need to change coolant in my Honda Odyssey 2001. I know it is better to let professional do it, but due to my difficult economic situation I decided to do it myself. My Honda has automatic climate control. What are the steps do get coolant changed? Thanks for any suggestion!!!
A: the Odyssey uses long life coolant so be sure to use that when you replace it. Buy the pre-mix 50/50 replacement coolant. you can't replace the long-life coolant with the cheaper ethyl-glycol type. If that's your intention, you're better off not changing the coolant.
as for replacing it, there will be a 'petcock' at the bottom of the radiator that looks like a "T" with a tube in the center coming out of one of the sides. the "T" part turns to the left and the coolant will drain out of the tube in the center. Take the radiator cap off to let air into the radiator as the coolant comes out.
Coolant is hazardous waste so you need to capture it and turn it in at a recycling center. most coolants are toxic to animals so keep the dog away.
once you drain the coolant refill the radiator then put the cap on. remove the coolant overflow jug at the end of the rubber hose that is attached to the radiator filler neck. You'll need to hold the overflow jug up so that the level of the coolant in the overflow jug is above the height of the dashboard inside the car.
then run the engine and wait for the thermostat to open. the level of fluid in the radiator will drop and the reservoir will drain down. when the level in the coolant reservoir has stabilized, let the engine run until the cooling fan comes on. If you skip this step, you'll have air trapped in the cooling system that can cause you to have 'no heat' or for the engine to overheat.
unless the coolant is contaminated by oil or such, I would really suggest you have the coolant tested and see if it really needs to be replaced. If so, do it right or pay someone to do it for you.
hope that helps
Q: What car is better Mercedes M350 or a Honda Odyssey?
We have a family of 5 with 3 smaller kids 5,6 and 8. We own a Denali now and I'm sort of sick of how big it is and it's a gas hog. I cant decided if I want a Mercedes M350 or a Honda Odyssey. Any sugesstions.
A: The ML350 is a gas hog compared to the Odyssey. The Odyssey will probably cost you less in the long run, and it won't be in the shop for random problems.
Q: What is the life span of a 2002 Honda Odyssey, in Kms?
I am looking at purchasing a used Honda Odyssey. It's a 2002 model and has been used for country driving mainly - so not a lot of stopping and starting. It has done 200,000 Ks. Does anyone know what the life span of the car is?
A: A car will last as long as someone is willing to spend the money to keep it running. There have documented cases of cars going more that one million miles (1,612,000 kms). What sends a car to the junk yard is when some repair is needed that costs more than the car is worth.
200,000 kms is a lot of kms for any car and therefore the likely hood of a major repair is greater that for that of a newer or lower km vehicle. That is the chance that you take with any used vehicle.
Q: I have a Honda odyssey 2003. Does anyone know if I can add 8th seat in the second row?
I have a Honda odyssey 2003. Does anyone know if I can add 8th seat in the second row? I know that the option is available for models later than 2005.
A: If you do add an eighth seat, then you have to notify your vehicle insurers. If you don't, then you are technically driving an uninsured Vehicle, as the specification has changed from the vehicle you originally insured.
Q: What do you think of the Honda Odyssey?
My sister and her husband are looking into buying a honda odyssey and they wanted opinions from people who have had them and know what they are like. Is it overall a good vehicle or has anyone experienced any problems? Also, I've heard that it's pretty pricy to up-keep, is that true?
Basically, is it a good vehicle and would you recommend it? And why or why not?
A: Overall, it's a very refined minivan. If you plan on getting one, I highly recommend the EX or EX-L trim because they come with power sliding doors (the doors are HEAVY without power). Our 2005 has a technology called VCM, which was only available on the EX-L and Touring models, though I'm not sure about the newer models. VCM shuts off 2 or 3 of the 6 cylinders when cruising to save gas. In other words, while cruising, you only run on 4 or 3 cylinders. The transmission is really smooth. Don't get the models that are the first years of each generation, i.e. 1999, 2005, because they tend to have the most problems. Our minivan has weak power steering while braking.
But, overall, it's a great car. Highly recommended.
Another option is the Toyota Sienna, which gets just as good gas mileage and is quieter.

Q: Is there a way to split the audio video signal of a built in system in a Honda Odyssey?
I have a 2004 Honda Odyssey with a built in entertainment system. I would like to capture the video signal and split it out to two additional monitors in the rear. I would like to use the built in DVD player to display the video on all three screens. There is a game input jack, but no output that I know of. Has anyone accomplished this? Thanks
A: Try Leawo DVD Creator! It can burn videos to dvd with menu easily and quickly. You can find Leawo Free DVD Creator here:

Q: How do I fix the radio on Honda Odyssey(tried the code)?
The battery died on our 2002 Honda Odyssey and after we fixed it, we got the code to start up the radio again, but it didn't work. It has no Error message. We took the battery cables off and tried again, but still no message. The CD player works and the Tape player works, but none of the buttons work, except "eject". Is there a way to fix it or do I need to replace it? Any cheap suggestions?
A: There are 2 fuses for the radio, it sounds as if one is blown.
